Is there any limitation in triggering workflow based on the type of triggering artefact?

ie. native attributes, custom attributes, dynamic attributes, roles (any type)?

There is no limitation workflow can follow else logic in case of negative test case

As per my understanding, We can give one WF for user Modification. 

So in that one WF how can we include different kinds of artifacts?

Is there also a way to trigger workflow when modifying a role (adding or removing permissions on the role)?
