What is Password Synchronization feature in Active Directory?

Whats the usage of Password synchronization functionality in AD connector? Referring this documentation but not able to understand the purpose of doing it.

There will be utility on domain controllers which will capture all password changes of users and same password will sent back to saviynt using rest api calls from utility.

Ok. But even if we decide to store it in Saviynt, whats the use of it? where it can be used? any use cases?

Organization using on premises AD and basic authentication for saviynt login . So user don’t need to maintain different password same ad password will be used for saviynt login

Ok. So, if we are using SSO then this is of no use for us. correct? Assuming there is no other use case to it.
