Referencing variables from externalconfig file in email templates

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to customize our email template where I want to parameterize some repetitive values. I've defined these variables in an external configuration file and restarted the app. However, I'm not receiving anything afterward. Can you help me identify the issue? I've researched it, but still facing problems.

For example, I've defined "App" as "Application". I'm calling it like this: {{App}} and also ${App}. Sometimes, I encounter this issue.
App=Application;
i call like this {{App}} and also ${App} sometimes i got this 

Operation not allowed as you are entering a value that resembles or contains script code

It seems that only the "baseUrlForEmail" variable appeared for me, but not the pre-defined ones. Is the issue with my syntax or something else?

baseUrlForEmail is only supported
