Email sent unexpectedly after upgrade to v24.5

Hi All,

Does anyone encounter the issue where multiple email got sent unexpectedly after version upgrade to v24.5? This issue is happening for once only, which is the morning after upgrade.

We have raised a Saviynt ticket on this, but support mentioned they couldn’t find anything from logs and suggested us to raise this on forum.

Here are some of the scenarios where email got sent unexpectedly,

1. Import job failure notification

  • We have the job info stated in notification but the job stated in the email was 6 days back.
  • The time we received email notification was not even the scheduled time for import job.

2. Analytic report

  • There’s no trigger during the time email was sent.
  • Inside the email there’s no attachment at all.  

3.Password reset

  • User receiving 2~3 password reset success notifications at the same time.
  • User did not perform any password reset and last reset was 10 days ago. We have also checked there’s no reset attempt made by user during that day.

*Not sharing any ss or logs due to confidential information

It may be sent from DR setup

Appreciate if you could explain more on how DR setup could possibly cause the issue, we would like to understand better on how this works.

  • We had faced similar issue where email where coming DR environment and it started triggering email with same subject how u can find ?
  • You can find from which email server its sent via below method.
  • in Outlook click on file - Properties

  • When Emails are sent from production - Sender IP will be as below
    Authentication-Results: spf=softfail (sender IP is XX.XX.XX.XX)
    When emails sent from DR :   
    Authentication-Results: spf=softfail (sender IP is XX.XX.XX.XX)
