User Import via Connection

Hi all,

While setting up a user import job from a connection, there are 2 parameters on the UI trigger configuration page in version 24.4 - "User Terminate Limit" and "User Threshold" . What is the difference between the two?  The first one is to restrict how many users get terminated due to bad data in the source. The second one is to restrict the maximum no. of users that could be missing during import. Is that correct? 

Also... is there a way to restrict how many new users are created? This is to prevent accidental bad data from creating new users.

• User Terminate Limit:

  • This parameter restricts the number of users that can be terminated in Saviynt during an import job. It's a safeguard to prevent mass termination due to potential bad data in the source system. For example, if you set this limit to 10, and the import job identifies 11 users that should be terminated based on the source data, the job will halt, and no users will be terminated. This allows you to review and correct the source data before proceeding.

• User Threshold:

  • This parameter restricts the number of users that could be missing in the source system during the import. If the number of missing users exceeds the threshold, the job will halt, preventing unintended consequences, such as massive deprovisioning. For example, if you set this threshold to 100 and during the import 101 users are found missing in the source, the job will stop to avoid accidental deprovisioning or removal of access for a large number of users.

  • Restricting the Number of New Users Created:

    As of version 24.4, there is no direct parameter in the UI to restrict the number of new users being created during an import job.

  • You can use preprocessor to restrict the new users to be created.
