Understanding the Service Accounts

Hi,

Could you please clarify my doubts regarding service accounts?

1.  Does all application has service accounts? If yes how can we identify those accounts in each and every application? I have look into 'Account type', some of our application service accounts (I am confused whether it is service accounts or not) doesn't have account type. 

2. If answer to 1 is yes, how to exclude those service accounts from the orphan accounts report? As I understood service accounts in the each application doesn't have username as like Orphan accounts (correct me if I am wrong)

3. Is there any configuration included for Service accounts in connections (for exmaple accountid..)

4. Is there any forum/documentation regarding this? I noticed we have documentation only for 'Managing/creating' Service accounts.

Service Accounts:

• Not every application has service accounts, but many do. Service accounts are typically used for automated processes and services, allowing applications to authenticate and interact with other services or resources without user intervention.
• You need to manually update account type and owner for such accounts

- correct understanding - You can exclude using accounttype not in ('Service Account')

3. Is there any configuration included for Service accounts in connections (for exmaple accountid..) yes you can add account type mapping in most of connection such as DB / SAP /REST

4. Is there any forum/documentation regarding this? I noticed we have documentation only for 'Managing/creating' Service accounts.
