Multiple password policies for Active Directory

Hello All,

our customer have several password policies defined in AD and, when there is an account that needs to be provisioned into AD, he'd like to have a menu into which select and apply one of that policy.

From what I'm reading, it seems that Saviynt cannot manage multiple password policies for a single security system: can anyone confirm that? If is true: is there any other way to have more that one password policy to be choosen for the provisioned user?

Thanks in advance.

Only one password policy per security system is supported. You can create multiple application to achieve this

@rushikeshvartak could you please give more details about the use of multiple application?

Our scenario: the customer is using 8 different password policies, each of them has its own LDAP filter and the policy will be applied to users according with the filter, so we do know in advance which policy a user will receive upon creation.

Is this something that can be accomplished via multiple application as you suggested? Could you please depict an example scenario?

Thank you,

Andrea

Hi @AndreaG

At this moment, multiple password policies for a single security system is not supported.
Only one password policy can be assigned to one security system.

Hence if you want to use 8 password policies, you need to have 8 security systems. However, It doesn't make sense to create 8 security systems for one application just of the sake of different password policies. Rather, you can create a single password policy at the application end and use the same in Saviynt.
