Is it possible to make Vendor Manager field as mandatory field for Vendors and not Employees

Hi,

This is with reference to Onboarding Screen. Is there a way to make any field mandatory for a certain of user and non-mandatory for some.

For Ex: Vendor Manager is a filed in Onboarding screen. We want this to be a mandatory field when we onboard vendors alone. If any employee is onboarded, then it should shows as a non-mandatory field.

@nsapna

Use action string( REQ & NREQ )in Employee Type DA

Sample:

REQ###Vendor Manager###Vendor___NREQ###Vendor Manager###Employee

Hi Sumathi,

This worked. Along with the suggestion you provided to update Action String with "REQ###secondaryManager###Vendor___NREQ###secondaryManager###Employee" and Vendor Manager DA as child for Employee Type . We had to remove the values from Default Value section. Post making these changes, vendor is populating as a mandatory field and Employee is not a required field.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi Sumathi,

We made below changes in Global Configuration - Identity Lifecycle - EmployeeType attribute and Vendor Manager is still reflecting as mandatory for Employees and Vendors.

Is this the correct way or is there something else we need to change

@nsapna Make Vendor Manager DA as child for Employee Type DA

then share the Vendor Manager DA config screenshot.

Hi Sumathi,

Made changes to EmployeeType DA and added "

REQ###Vendor Manager###Vendor___NREQ###Vendor Manager###Employee" under action string.

Updated the Parent Attribute for Vendor Manager DA as Employeetype and unchecked the Required option.

Navigated to Create User Request from Home screen - Updated the required information and selected Organization Name as Cognizant India . In this scenario, Vendor Manager should be a mandatory field but the same is not reflecting.

Find attached screenshots for more inforamtion.

Thanks

Sapna

@nsapna Is Vendor manager field mandatory or not depends on Organization name or EmployeeType DA?

Hi Sumathi,

Currently, it is not a mandatory field. We have a requirement where in when we select the organization and if the employee type is Vendor then we need Vendor Manager to be a mandatory field . If we select an Organization and if the employee type is Employee then we do not need this as a mandatory field.

Thanks
