Installation of SC 2.0 Client in Windows Server 2019

Hi Team,

Can the SC 2.0 Client be installed on Windows Server 2019? We plan to onboard an on-premises Active Directory application for a proof of concept (POC).

If installation on Windows Server 2019 is not feasible, how can we achieve this onboarding from our local on-premises machine to the Cloud EIC instance? Additionally, what are the possible ways to interact between our local on-premises environment and the Cloud EIC application during the onboarding process?

I appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks,

Rakesh V.

Hi @rakeshvadnala ,

There are five flavors of SC 2.0 Client installation:

  • OVA built on RHEL 8.x, CentOS 7.x and Alma Linux 8.x

  • Amazon AMI for Client AWS Installation

  • Azure VHD for Client Azure Installation

  • Binary Installation for CentOS 7.7-7.9

  • Binary Installation for RHEL 7.7-7.9, RHEL 8.x

Can the SC 2.0 Client be installed on Windows Server 2019? NO you can't, above flavors are supported. You can still reach out to your CSM for official confirmation

how can we achieve this onboarding from our local on-premises machine to the Cloud EIC instance?

  • Create SC2 connection using one the above flavors
  • Open ports from SC2 client (for ex RHEL 8 server , lets call it SaviyntPOCSC2Box, ) to AD domain controller, for AD , it will 389 or 636 mostly
  • Upload certs in Saviynt (for tls / 636).
  • Configure connector setting
  • Create recon job

This will be your starting point , you can read more on Saviynt doc about AD connector to do more advance configs.

Hi @Amit_Malik ,

Thank you for replying.

One more doubt, my Active Directory residing on local on-prem server and EIC is available in Cloud. How will I make connectivity between those 2 nodes.

Is there any network settings or configurations we need to do it from our local system. or will SC Client acts as a bridge between the on-prem to cloud ?

Hi @rakeshvadnala ,

Saviynt will also have a SC2 server on their cloud setup which will create a VPN tunnel with your side SC2 client. This VPN tunnel will talk on port 443 and will be bridge b/w two.

More details are here - https://docs.saviyntcloud.com/bundle/Saviynt-Connect-20-Resources/page/Content/Saviynt-Connect-20-Ar...

Hope it helps !!
