Hi Team,

We are looking into Saviynt intelligence features, from this need info on real time uses of "Duplicate Identity Management".

1.From which Saviynt version onwards this "Saviynt intelligence features" is available

2.i checked the Saviynt documentation about this "Duplicate Identity Management", where mentioned

Duplicate Identity Management (saviyntcloud.com)

"If you are on Release v2021.0.x, you will be using the Beta version of Duplicate Identity Management. To use it as a General Availability (GA) feature, you need to upgrade to Release v2022.0.0."

Could you please help me understand about what beta version and general availability feature?

Thank you,

Raju

@ELLURU_RAJU , you are on 24.4 right? if yes, this feature is available for your environment.

It was beta in v2021 meaning it was still in testing phase but available to use with limitations.

GA means it is globaly available for customer as finalized product / feature. Any issue will be considered as bug.

Kind Regards,
Amit Malik

1. From Which Version Is Saviynt Intelligence Available?

The Saviynt Intelligence Features, including Duplicate Identity Management, were introduced in Saviynt 2021.0.x. However:

  • In v2021.0.x, this feature was in Beta (limited functionality for testing and feedback).
  • The General Availability (GA) version became stable and fully available starting with Saviynt v2022.0.0.

2. Beta vs. General Availability (GA) Feature

  • Beta Version:

    • A testing phase where features are released to selected customers to gather feedback.
    • Some functionalities may be incomplete, with potential bugs or limitations.
    • It's typically used in non-production environments to evaluate performance and collect feedback for improvement.
    • For example, in the v2021.0.x release, some detection rules for duplicate identities might have been missing or the workflows for remediation were not fully implemented.
  • General Availability (GA):

    • A feature marked as GA is stable, fully functional, and officially supported in production environments.
    • In Saviynt v2022.0.0, Duplicate Identity Management became a GA feature, meaning:
      • All planned functionalities (e.g., duplicate detection, conflict resolution workflows, auto-remediation, and reporting) were fully implemented.
      • Customers could now rely on the feature in production with standard support from Saviynt.

Real-Time Uses of Duplicate Identity Management

This feature provides automated detection and management of duplicate user identities to improve identity governance.

Key Use Cases:

  1. Duplicate Account Detection:

    • Identify users with multiple accounts across systems that shouldn’t exist (e.g., same person with two AD accounts).
  2. Conflict Management and Resolution:

    • Automatically flag identities for review and send alerts to administrators.
    • Provides workflows to merge or disable duplicate accounts to avoid security risks and licensing costs.
  3. Enhanced Governance Controls:

    • Prevents toxic combinations of roles or entitlements assigned to duplicate accounts.
    • Automates cleanup tasks to maintain data hygiene and compliance.

How to Use the GA Version in v2022.0.0 and Beyond

To use Duplicate Identity Management effectively:

  • Ensure your Saviynt instance is upgraded to v2022.0.0 or later.
  • Configure policies and detection rules for duplicates (e.g., based on email, employee ID, or username matching).
  • Set up workflows to notify administrators or take action (merge accounts, disable duplicates, etc.).
