AD Connector Provision

Hi Team,

A generic question: I wanted to understand why two connectors are required for importing and provisioning. Can we import and provision using the same connector?

Do we require two AD connectors to work on provisioning? one to import the accounts and entitlements, and one for provisioning?

And also, can you please let me know what all the connector types require for two different connectors?

For AD you can use only single connector to achieve both Import & provisioning use cases.

@rambhan You can use single connection for importing and provisioning.

connection type-AD

Specify same connection name in connection and provisioning connection fields in security system.

Refer the AD Integration guide

https://docs.saviyntcloud.com/bundle/AD-v23x/page/Content/Active-Directory-Integration-Overview.htm

@rambhan

Under security systems you see two options - one for Import Connection and other for Provisioning Connection.

In principle this gives flexibility for the integrations, Some customers has use cases like import is disconnected and provisioning is a connected integration or vice-versa. So we use distinct connections for Import and Provisioning.

In case both import and provisioning are connected integrations, you can configure same connection under Import Connection and Provisioning Connection under Security systems.

Hope this helps.
