Expired campaign vs Discontinued campaign

What are the main differences between the status of an expired campaign and a discontinued campaign? If a campaign is discontinued would the results still be action on (entitlements revoked) or would all items be voided from the campaign. Does an expired campaign only signify the time has passed and will the items still take action?

If you discontinue the campaign, revoke task on the entitlement / accounts wont be performed. It just means that you no longer need the campaign and hence you are discontinuing it.

If the due date of the campaign is passed and post that if you run the campaign expiry job then campaign will move to Expired state, in this it will revoke account/entitlement (only if you enabled the config while launching the campaign)

  • Expired - Campaigns which are elapsed due to end date.

    • Campaigns have an end date that apply to all the certifications within a campaign. When the end date reaches and the Expire Attestation based on End Date (ATTESTATIONEXPIREDJOB) job is run for the campaign, the campaign expires and all the certifications within the campaign also expire.

    • It will create revoke task if configuration has been enabled while launching campiagn
  • Discontinued - You can discontinue one or more certifications of the New Preview, In Progress status manually.
    • If you discontinue there will be no task created for particular campiagn and it will be considered as voided
