Greetings!
We would like to inform you about an important update related to the Saviynt App for ServiceNow.
Upgrade Recommendation
We strongly recommend upgrading to the Saviynt App for ServiceNow version 2.0.14. Version 2.0.14 removes the need for a manual security key rotation after each EIC upgrade, addressing a key limitation in previous releases, which often led to downtime and manual resets. With this update, admin users can now configure a service account within the app to automatically generate access tokens for future data imports, ensuring smooth operations and reduced downtime.
Deprecated Fields
Please note that the following fields are no longer supported in version 2.0.14 and above:
Bearer Token
Refresh Token
Users must now set the following values for Saviynt EIC credentials:
Saviynt API User
Saviynt API Password (New in version 2.0.14)
For more information, see Configuring the Connection Properties.
For release notes, see Saviynt App for ServiceNow Release Notes.
For any questions or further assistance, please contact our support team.
To determine the current version of the Saviynt app, navigate to All > Admin Center > Application Manager in ServiceNow. Then, click on the Installed tab, where you'll find a list of all installed applications along with their respective version numbers.
Customers are advised to upgrade to version 2.0.14 as soon as possible to benefit from the latest features and security updates.
Version 2.0.14 introduces automated security key rotation, requiring a one-time setup of Saviynt EIC credentials, including a new API password. Customers should test the new token generation process during data imports. For more information, see Saviynt Identity Governance Release Notes on the ServiceNow store.
Without the upgrade, customers will continue to face manual security key rotations, leading to potential service downtime. They will also miss out on the new security features.
The update addresses the need to do manual key rotation post each EIC upgrade.
Yes, customers using version 2.0.13 or earlier may require manual key rotation every time they upgrade to a newer version of EIC, leading to downtime, and will benefit from the new automated process introduced in version 2.0.14.
