What is meaning of the attribute AppTypekey

We are integrating the EBS CPAM withour EIC, as a pre requisite we are asked to set up the AppTypekey. Can someone please help me in understanding what does the attribute mean?

Please provide us detailed information on  "EBS CPAM"  you are refering to , is it Oracle EBS or something else.
