What constraint does the grails.plugin.springsecurity.saml.maxAuthenticationAge have relative to the IdP "session logout value"?

When consulting the documentation, there is conflicting statements- one stating is needs "more than or equal to" and the other stating it must be "less than or equal to"; which is correct?
