SAP S/4 HANA Connection Setup - Groovy and Jar Files Configuration

Hello everybody,

we are facing an issue with the setup of the SAP S/4 HANA Connection.

Current situation
  • We provided the connection parameters based on the connection guide
  • Firewall settings are configured and it shouldn't be a network issue
  • Connection is not successful: "Error While Test connection: Connection Failed"

Action taken to analyze the issue:
We double checked out field inputs for the connection with reference to the connection guide. Firewall settings are also working correctly.

Within our research we found also multiple ressources pointing to the setup of jar and other connection files, but we weren't able to figure out the corresponding actions that need to be taken:

"The SAP connector uses SAP Java Connector (JCo) to integrate with the SAP ABAP application. So cross check with Saviynt Professional services saplib jar is available." (see https://forums.saviynt.com/t5/identity-governance/sap-connection/m-p/15844)

Searching the documentation about jar files for SAP we found this documentation: https://docs.saviyntcloud.com/bundle/SAP-v2022x/page/Content/Preparing-for-Integration.htm with a little note box that states the following:

Note
If you you belong to the Saviynt Implementation team, ensure that you have the following files:

  • TempTables.groovy
  • libsapjco3.so, sapjco3.jar, and libsapjco3.jnilib for UNIX
  • sapjco3.jar and sapjco3.dll for Windows

Open questions
Where do the groovy and jar files come from?
Where do we have to deploy them?
Is this something the Saviynt Team needs set up for the S/4 connection to work properly?

Thank you for your help!

Saviynt Team will be able to assist you with the jars and groovy file. Please open a Fresh Desk ticket for Saviynt Support to be able to assist you else if you have a Saviynt Professional Services Contract then you can reach out to them as well to assist you with checking the jars and groovy files for SAP.

They will also be able to telnet to the hostname and port to eliminate any network issues.
