Query regarding UserNotInFileAction attribute during Import

Hi Team,

Could you please confirm which users are considered by Saviynt to terminate/Inactivate when we specify <userNotInFileAction>INACTIVATE</userNotInFileAction> during import in the connection User Import XML.

We tried to test this using both Full and Incremental import, but we couldn't infer which/how many users are being considered to terminate from Saviynt's side.

Could anyone who used this feature please confirm.

@sdey_2023  please check below

  • Specify the value of the userNotInFileAction tag as InactivateUserOnly. When you specify this value, the status of existing users not present in the HR system is changed as Inactive instead of terminating them and creating a Revoke Access task. This option does not terminate users although the User Termination from Imports configuration is enabled under Admin > Global Configurations > Identity lifecycle > OFFBOARDING.

  • Specify the threshold value that you want the connector to use for inactivating or deleting user missing from import in the newly introduced userThreshold tag. For example, if the threshold limit is set to 10, and if the number of missing users exceeds this value, the connector does not change the status of these users. This feature prevents incorrect status update of users who have been deleted accidentally from the HR system. The default value for this configuration is 1000.

Hi, Thaks for sharing the information, our query is which all users does it consider to inactivate while import if not present in feed ? Does it consider only the users it had imported during the previous import and if those are not present in the feed during current import, it will inactivate those users? Like we saw during full import, it inactivated 250 Users whereas total users in the feed was 444 but during incremental import it inactivated only 13 users. We don't have any threshold set in the import xml.

  • It will inactivate based on source of import.

Hi @rushikeshvartak

Could you please share the documentation link which lists the possible values for user not found in feed attribute?

In the document, we see the string In-Activate but that's not working in our env. Hence, appreciate if you could share the link for the list of possible values.

Thanks.

@rushikeshvartak Thanks for sharing this link. I can see the two values

  <userNotInFileAction>NOACTION</userNotInFileAction>
  <userNotInFileAction>InactivateUserOnly</userNotInFileAction>

NOACTION - Doesn't support our usecase

INACTIVATEUSERONLY - Is not working as described in the document

INACTIVATE - Looking for the actual string that is supported by the product as there is no reference in the document

Thanks
