We have user groups in system and they are being used in different places like: workflow, campaigns etc... We want to notify the admin on or before the last member of the user group gets inactive.
If we don't have any active member in the user group then the task will be assigned to the admin by default. We don't want the task to be assigned to admin rather we want to update the user group membership beforehand.
Please let us know how we can achieve this.

You could use analytics to deliver reports of the user group and its membership status. I'm not sure if there is something OOB that can deliver automatically.

Hello,
From a governance perspective, its always the best case to ensure that you have a user update rule that will be assigning/transferring ownership of an account/entitlement/role or membership in a user group to the user's manager or the 'owner on terminate' if set on the user's profile.
In order to setup advance notifications, you can build analytics reports where you can join the user table with the usergroup table and query all the users that will be getting terminated in the next 7 days and if they are the solo active owner of the group.
