Hi Team,

Can we apply a approval workflow for service account password reset request?

The ask is when service desk submits a request for password reset for any service account, it should go for service account owner approval. Please suggest how to achieve this.

@vermark : First of all service account password reset option is only available for Service Account Owner. Can you explain what exactly you mean by "service desk submits a request for password reset for any service account"

Few of the service desk people are given role_admin so they can see the tile to reset the service account password just like admin.

So when the service desk people with admin role does the password reset for any service account it should go for account owner approval.

@vermark : Okay. No as far as I know you cannot have WF assigned to service account password reset.

Hi @vermark ,

Thats Right, as Saatvik mentioned there is no setting/configuration to set the workflow.

Try the below (since you said the users are assigned role_admin, you can try this workaround. if this help)

  1. Let the service desk reset the password and task is created
  2. Block it by not scheduling the job to pick the task
  3. Create a report and send the data to respective owners
  4. They would have an option to discontinue the task or run the job to reset the password
