Approval Workflow on Feed File Update

Hi,

We are using user csv feed file and sav schema to do our user onboarding and lifecycle flows. Our question is, when the feed file comes through and updates a users CP21, we want to trigger an approval workflow to the users supervisor. Is it possible to kickoff an approval workflow from the feed file import? Or can an approval workflow be initiated from analytic?

Thank you!

Hi @sab2 ,

Greetings.

When the CP21 is updated, you want the workflow to be triggered to user's manager to approve/reject the update of cp21 or you're looking for any custom action.

Please elaborate on what we are trying to achieve here.

Thanks,

Hi,

Yes, we want the workflow to go to manager to approve/reject the update of the CP21.

We know that the attribute will be automatically updated from feed file but we want to send it to approval and if approved, we will update CP22 in the background to be equal to the CP21.

@sab2 ,

This is not possible to achieve because the feed updates the user's attribute and it will not be able to create request for that.

Can you please let us know what's the business use case for the ask. Because the feed file is something updated from your end and sent to saviynt, so I assume the value mapped to CP21 is coming from the HR source. Kindly explain what's the reason behind having it approved by the manager.

Thanks ,

You can have workflow created as part of custom jar but this does not seems like good design, because currently number users are less hence request will be less but in frequent change on user profile it will create n no. of requests.

Currently request creation is not supported on user update.
