How to set trigger properties without scheduler?

Is there any way to set the trigger properties under Job Control panel without the scheduler.

Example:

We have a DB import job which is triggered by a chain job. So we just want to setup DB import job properties and not the scheduler as we don't want it run on its own.

Does that mean we will have to run this job individually first time - to set the properties like connection name, file name etc?

And from next time, when this job is trigger via another chain job, it will pick up the properties used for the first run?

You dont have to run it, While configuring the triggers you need to configure parameters and save it.
