1. Why do you need to transfer ownership?

When a user is terminated, then all his/her ownership should be transferred to another pre-defined user

When a user attribute is updated [for example, user leaves a department within a company and joins another department], then all his/her ownership should be transferred to another pre-defined user

2. Which user ownership is transferable in SSM?

Transferring all below ownership is supported in SSM

3. How can you transfer ownership?

You can configure the user update policy with the Transfer Ownership actions as in above image

User being terminated or updated will have the ownership transferred to

b.1) OwnerOnTerminate user if exists

b.2) Else, to user’s manager

b.3) Else, to admin user

4. Does the new owner receive a notification on ownership transfer?

Yes, new owner gets notified for the ownership transferred as configured in the user update policy email template

Hi Aarthi Sukumar , may I know which version are you on ?

because I dont see the step b.1) OwnerOnTerminate user if exists in our environment(v6.0)

Do we need to enable any extra config ?

Appreciate your response.

Thanks,

Vikram
