How to enable the option to certify Child Roles in Role Owner Certification?

Use Case:

How to certify Child Roles as part of Role Owner Certification along with Users and entitlements that are part of a Role?

Application Version:

SP5, 2020, 2021 and above

Pre - Requisite:

The user should have ROLE_ADMIN sav role to configure campaigns as well to make the mentioned config changes in externalconfig.properties file.

Solution:

Saviynt has the ability to certify child roles as part of Role Owner Campaigns. Sometimes, Child role option is not available like Accounts and Entitlements as part of Role Owner Campaign Configurations. To enable the same, go to Admin --> Settings --> Configuration Files --> externalconfig.properties file.

Look for the below config:

enable.child.role.certification =Y/N

If the value is set to N, then change the same to Y. If the property is not present at all in the file then add the same with value Y.

Restart the services once the config is added by going to Admin --> Admin Functions --> Application Restart --> Restart all services

Once completed, the Child Role option will be available as part of Role Owner Configurations.

Could you please let know where this particular config(enable.child.role.certification =Y/N) needs to be added in the externalconfig.properties. Is there any specific section or as the last line in the file? 

Admin --> Settings --> Configuration Files --> externalconfig.properties file.
