1. To send approval to line manager, manager approval block can be leveraged. This block will assign the request item to the beneficiary manager. But if the requester is the beneficiaries manager then this block will be skipped and also email notification of this block will not be invoked.
2. To send approvals to a specific set of manager, you can use the custom assignment block. In a custom assignment block , a request item can be assigned to a particular user, usergroup, to a set of users satisfying condition for particular user properties and to set of users evaluated from a custom query.
